China’s Inverter Exports Reach US$5.53 Billion in H1 2026, Driven by Global Solar Growth

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), China exported 24.73 million inverters (HS Code: 85044030) in the first half of 2026, with a total export value of US$5.53 billion.

Although export volume decreased by 6.5% year-on-year compared with 26.46 million units in H1 2025, export value increased by 30%, rising from US$4.26 billion to US$5.53 billion. This reflects growing demand for higher-value inverter solutions, including advanced residential, commercial, and energy storage applications.

Europe Remains the Largest Market

By export value, Europe remained China’s largest inverter export market, reaching US$2.07 billion in H1 2026. The Asia-Pacific region ranked second with US$1.83 billion, followed by the Middle East (US$584 million), Africa (US$493 million), Latin America (US$411 million), and North America (US$142 million).

European markets such as the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, the UK, Poland, Spain, and Sweden continue to be key destinations for Chinese inverter suppliers.

Emerging Markets Show Strong Potential

China’s top 10 inverter export markets in H1 2026 included:

Netherlands, Germany, Australia, India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Japan, Nigeria, and the Philippines.

Emerging markets, including India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the UAE, are becoming important growth drivers, supported by rapid solar deployment, renewable energy policies, and increasing demand for reliable power solutions.

Guangdong Leads Export Value

Among Chinese provinces, Guangdong ranked first with inverter exports worth US$2.0 billion, followed by Zhejiang (US$1.63 billion), Jiangsu (US$870 million), and Anhui (US$510 million).

The continued growth in export value highlights the global demand for more efficient and intelligent solar energy solutions. As solar installations expand worldwide, Chinese inverter manufacturers are expected to remain key suppliers in the global renewable energy market.
