The Highest Increase Reached 9.21%! The Price of Silicon Wafers Continues To Rise

On January 8, 2026, the Silicon Industry Association released the latest silicon wafer prices. This week, the prices of silicon wafers continued to rise.
Among them, the average transaction price of N-type G10L monocrystalline silicon wafers (182*183.75mm/130μm) was 1.31 yuan per piece, rising by 9.17% compared with the pre-holiday period; the average transaction price of N-type G12R monocrystalline silicon wafers (182*210mm/130μm) was 1.42 yuan per piece, increasing by 8.40% compared with the pre-holiday period; the average transaction price of N-type G12 monocrystalline silicon wafers (210*210mm/130μm) was 1.66 yuan per piece, rising by 9.21% compared with the pre-holiday period. According to research and understanding, the price of downstream batteries this week rose significantly compared with the pre-holiday period, while the price of components remained stable. Among them, the mainstream price of battery cells was 0.37-0.39 yuan/W, rising by 18.75% compared with the pre-holiday period, and the mainstream price of components was 0.66-0.68 yuan/W, remaining unchanged compared with the pre-holiday period.
For the current round of silicon wafer price hikes, the Silicon Industry Association has analyzed three core driving factors: On the supply side, as silicon wafer enterprises have significantly reduced production, the output of silicon wafers has decreased, and inventory has dropped significantly. According to statistics, the silicon wafer production in December was 47.7 GW, a 14.2% decrease compared to November. On the demand side, with the Spring Festival approaching, terminal component manufacturers have a stronger willingness to purchase and stock up to ensure order delivery. Coupled with the increase in the price of solar cells, the acceptance of high-priced silicon wafers has increased. On the cost side, the firm price of polysilicon, a raw material, provides cost support for silicon wafers.微信图片_20260115100627_17_97
