A 36 MWp ground-mounted solar project in West Java, Indonesia, has successfully passed final acceptance and entered the warranty period, paving the way for full commercial operation.
Developed under an EPC contract by PowerChina, the project is located in the Karawang Industrial Park, about 45 km from Jakarta. It is Indonesia’s first solar power project dedicated to supplying electricity to a data center.
The solar plant features 720 W N-type bifacial double-glass modules, 330 kV string inverters and fixed mounting systems. The project scope covered the complete process from engineering and procurement to construction, commissioning and grid connection.
Once operational, the facility is expected to generate approximately 52 million kWh of clean electricity annually and reduce around 42,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year, equivalent to the environmental benefits of planting about 230,000 trees.
The renewable power generated will support the DISM national data center within the industrial park, helping meet the growing energy demand of Indonesia’s digital infrastructure.
The successful completion of the project highlights the increasing integration of solar energy with industrial development and data center infrastructure, supporting Indonesia’s goal of increasing renewable energy usage and building a cleaner power system.
